Fourteen Harbor Freight individual solar panels from their 45 Watt kits. They are mounted on 2×4 frames with seven panels each giving 210 Watts of power for all fourteen. In the next couple of weeks we’ll install the other 14 panels for a total of 420 Watts, which combined with the previous 1600 of solar gives me 2Kw of solar power. I also have 2Kw of wind power which I’m going to raise the tower to a total of 100 to 150 feet depending on cost. I expect the added height should produce 1Kw constant if not more.

i conect the bateries in paralello
and cable #6
@exCanadian Glad you found it of use. I’m getting ready to start the installation of the DuPont panels this weekend using the same method. This should be good!
Nice, clean electrical board. Love the idea of the lag bolts to secure the panels to the frame. Thanks man!
@kwvrad2 Thanks! Glad you enjoy them!
great set of vids, very well illustrated , thanks man
Make sure you install the panels with the junction boxes at the top or peak as opposed to the bottom. I found the chink in the armor with these things. they dont caulk the edges of the glass inside the extruded aluminum frame and your wires will corrode off if water stands on them down there at the bottom edge. I have one in the barn that failed and found this after an ‘autopsy’, so to speak. I managed to save the other ones in time and still have them running. Just be aware of this.
@ElCoyotefromTexas Thanks I will post a new video tomorrow with the final two parts of the Harbor Freight panels. I added the final set of 14 panels and have the new battery bank in place so things are moving along.
nice info and hope you keep it up!
@jcornelius215 Multiple charge controllers and wind turbines work fine going to the same battery bank. You will always have one putting out more power than the others but all will corrected by the voltage of the battery bank, so that if one charge controller puts out more power it will put out the power in terms of Amps and not of volts. Charge controllers determine charge level by voltage level, since they all corrected to the same voltage (although different Amps) there is no conflict.
How do you put diffrent sources of power to your batteries? It seems like that if one of your charge controllers was putting out more power than the other then. than would shut off or they would go back and fourth not knowing what to do.
@gruntrucker1 Thanks, I’m glad you found them useful! God bless you.
exlnt!!!!!!!!!!!!! you did a very good job 1st class.very good vid .i’m saving your vids and telling my freinds.thank you very much.keep it up.
@ss109guy Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you find them useful.
First class all the way. Thanks for taking the time to put this up.
@KasinH Thanks Kasin. Turbines are from w w w (dot) magnet4less (dot) com, I think they are the best money can buy for they give the most power output. The well pump is so deep that it uses a lot of power every time it comes on so I put a 300 gallon tank and smaller pump with accumulator from harbor freight to pump with pressure to the house. The well pump now comes on once every two days for 10 minutes to fill the tank. My ammeter shows the well pump draws twice the power than the tank pump.
I like the way you recycle your PVC pipe. Way to go.
Where did you buy your wind turbines?
Nice well set up.
Sorry for your loss.
@nomoreremakes The tower is 50 feet high, one turbine is 60 feet high the other is 53 feet high. When I raise the tower it the tower will be 80 – 100 feet and the turbines another 10 feet and 3 feet higher than that. I have to get all my anchors ready first, the tower collar, the guy wires and then rent the man lift and get it delivered.
How many feet high are the wind generators now and how many feet high will they be when you raise them? I’m just curious.
hablas espanol…
pregunta?
im still fixing my cable from my solar panel has a conector MC4
here where im don sell solar panels conectors i have to order them…
my question is
i have 3 baterias solar panel 85 watts
power ineverter 1500 pure sinewave
si puedes dame la respuesta en espanol gracias de nuevo
@kricotoy Muchas gracias y que Dios lo bendiga
sorry for u lost…..
que dios este contigo y familia amen
@youmanskids Thanks for commeting youmanskids, I like all the useful stuff on your page. His is all the glory for nothing is done without Him.
Thanks and God bless you and your family as well!
